On the 2nd of July 2010, the final PiSA Project Workshop has been hold at the laboratory of the Fraunhofer IPK in Berlin, where EICAS demonstrated the Safety Manager application, developed with the aims to guarantee the safety of the working environment around the robot without using protective fences and to allow human-machine cooperation during the assembly tasks.
The application has been developed within PiSA project, an integrated project of the Sixth Framework Programme that involves many RTD and industrial partners all along the Europe, with the aim to combine human flexibility, intelligence and skills with the advantages of sophisticated technical systems that can help and support the workers during the production phases.
